| Biographie de : Jethro Tull |
Le groupe anglais Jethro Tull est fondé en 1968 par le charismatique Ian ANDERSON (chant, flûtes, harmonica, guitare acoustique, guitare électrique, etc...) et le guitariste Mick ABRAHAMS. ABRAHAMS est remplacé par Martin BARRE après le premier album "This Was".
JETHRO TULL s'est positionné comme le pionnier d'un mélange entre le rock progressif et le folk. Après 60 millions d'albums vendu et plus de 2500 concerts dans 40 pays, le groupe continue à enregistrer et à se produire, 100 concerts et 300 000 spectateurs par an en moyenne.
Jethro Tull est un des grands groupes de l'ère progressive, sortant un album par an entre 1968 et 1980, dont la plupart sont restés des classiques du genre. En résumé, leurs meilleurs albums sont "Aqualung", "Thick As A Brick", "A Passion Play", "War Child", "Minstrel In The Gallery", "Songs From The Wood" et "Heavy Horses". et restent des incontournables dans toute collection, avec une mention spéciale pour l'excellentissime "Aqualung".
